taking off the muffler performance

on my 05 daytona,if i take off the muffler and straight pipe it,how much performance would i get out of it,besides it being louder

Unless you tune for it, it would be a net loss in power. The stock tune on a Daytona is setup for the Borla exhaust system they came from the factory with, and straight piping it will reduce backpressure.

If you do tune for it, you will see a vary modest gain (Maybe 1 to 3 hp), and if you don't tune for it, you will probably see a loss of hp in the same 1 to 3hp range.

I put an Electric cut out before the muffler and gained 3/10 in the quarter!

I know you don't have the truck anymore, but it would be interesting to see the dyno curves for that... You probably gained some torque down low in the rpm range, while losing HP up high. Which would of course be perfect for drags..

I don't suppose you still have time slips from open and closed runs, Do you? It'd be cool to see where you actually picked up the 3/10ths
