I've seen people do a lot of different things to save weight but that's the first time for that particular mod. I think I'd stay with the stock setup it just looks more dependable than that modded one you have.

Laughing Laughing
Yea Joe, I think everything is ok with the tranny. The splines look fine.
I'll know next week when the driveshaft gets here and I can install it.

I figured the new modded version drops a little weight but it only
measures 25"s so I don't think it will fit. Mad

Just glad your truck made out ok. It sure tore up that shaft.

In all honesty, if you're going to run NX and possibly more, if it were me I'd look into a more heavy duty drive shaft and yoke that will more likely take the beating than the stock setup.

You're preachin to the choir here. I made so many calls today
my ear hurts. Couldn't find anyone to work with me on a custom
set-up.......yet. So I figured I'd do an R&R with the stock set-up just
to get back on the road again quickly. It's only $195.00 and it
will give me time to find the right place for a fabricated set-up.
Surprisingly, most of the people I spoke with today raved on how
good & strong the stock is. That's was good to hear
(if you don't beat it to death).

Thanks Ryan, Arctic Very Happy ~ I already put an order in! They will get back
with me on exact type and specs. Meanwhile I'll install the stock.

If money were no option i would get the carbon, but i think the other one you said would also be a good choice too!
