Well I just got back from getting an estimate for Hail Damage on my truck. My portion of the payment is $300.00 but the insurance portion is about $2300. I guess the damage is worse than I thought.

Man I am really sorry to hear that.I hate to say it but our GTX has to sit out and it scares me every time I hear about hail. We just had a hail storm go through about 20 miles south of us 15 min. ago. I hope they can get it fixed up like new for you.

That sucks.........A friend of mine had about $2000 worth of damage to his new car from a hail storm several years ago. He ended up taking it to one of those paintless repair places and got it fixed for a few hundred dollars. I was amazed how good it looked when he got it back.

We had hail come through about an hour ago. Small stuff, so the GTX made it through ok. Luckily the Bee sits in the garage so we only have to worry about one of them at a time.

Small stuff........right she was in the house and I took some furniture blankets and through over it. The hail was small enough not to hurt the truck but it sure didn't feel good on me.

I'm really sorry to hear about your trucks getting damaged. I know how I would feel if it was mine.

Check to see if you can get some of the damage removed by someone who practices Paintless dent removal. Some dealerships offer it.

Had it done paintless dent removal way and went to pick it up last Wednesday and the dents looked great but the 8-10 paint chips that were caused pissed me off.

To make a long story short I have yet to get my truck back and the repair place that was recommended by my insurance company fixed the chips but with a different shade of paint. When I questioned the paint they refused to fix the chips they caused and painted with the wrong color. My insurance company today refused to get involved because now the body shop is saying the chips were caused by me before I brought the truck in.

So now my truck looks like a dalmation with different color spots on it.

Tim

p.s Anyone know a lawyer that would like to do some pro-bono work and send a threating letter to the body shop?

They told me the GTX paint is not available anymore? BS.... and that if I can find it and buy it they will touch up the chips.... Touch-up, not fix, just dab orange paint in the chips...

I may beat someone senseless when I pick up the truck if it is not fixed properly....

Anyone know a good bail bondsman????

Thats BS all they have to do is mix it right! F that they should paint it, not touch it up. I would get ahold of the insurance company one more time, then consult with a lawyer.

It'd probably be a good idea to get one of those car port canopies you see for $250/300 in the sunday ads. You can quickly set it up when the storm is coming. I've contemplated getting one since my truck sits outside. It's too big to fit in the garage! Then again, whenever I hear hail is coming, I drive it to my work and park it in the parking garage there. Yeah, I'm a sissy, but it saves me repair costs.
