I'm wanting to change out my differential cover with a cooler one than stock, so I obviously need to change the fluid, but I'm still not sure whether I have the posi-trac or peg-leg. I checked the glove box sticker and the only info I could find about the subject was: (1)3.92 rear axle ratio and (2) corporate 9.25 LD rear axle....does the LD mean it's a posi-trac? Thanx for the assistance... Cool

For posi it should say "Anti-Spin". But a sure fire way is to jack up the rear (tires off ground) and spin one of the tires. If the other tire turns the "Opposite" direction then you have posi. Let us know! Cool

Thanks for the assistance everyone...if LD means locking differential, I was unaware...is the locking differential the posi-trac then Question I can always jack it up like Sublime GTX said to find out. The cover I was wantin' to get is from 3rd strike...it has the ram head logo on the cover...looks pretty nifty. That one you're gettin' looks pretty good too 2nd swarm...

Anti Spin is limited slip...... LD = Light Duty

Also if truck is jacked up and wheels spin in OPPOSITE directions you have an open differential (Peg Legger)!!!!!!

Did some re-checking and you're correct Carl.
Limited slip in our trucks have the tensioners which try and spin both wheels same time but we all know around corners what tends to happen.
Cool

oh come on, easiest way to find out is to stop at a stop sign, hold the brake down, hit the gas and bring her up to about 2000rpm, and release the brake Very Happy light her up and drive around and come back, one track = peg-legger, two = posi

My 91 s10 was open and spun both tires at will.
