Hi, i was wondering if anyone could help me? I bought a hard tonahue cover from the dealership painted to match my truck and they were supposed to put the wing on it, however, once i got the cover they said they wouldn't be able to because i guess they think they'll mess it up. But anyway, I want the wing molded onto the cover because the wing doesn't fit perfectly on the cover. It hangs over a lil bit on each side. I live in Rising Sun, Maryland. Does anyone know where anyplace or someone i can get to do this?? Or has any other ideas or suggestions.. PLEASE HELP!!

try going to a body shop and explain what u want done. the easiest way would be to use bondo to fill in the gaps.

also put some kinda metal bar under the tonneau covor to add stregnth to the wing so it dont come off at high speeds

Hey, welcome to the site first off.. Yet another MD member Cool

Here is someone that might be able to help you

http://www.rumblebee.org/album_personal.php?user_id=1401&sort_method=pic_time&sort_order=DESC&start=36

That is the Gallery for us's body shop 0504. They have a Wing on their cover. They are in GA though, but might be able to help you get it molded onto the cover. Hope that helps out a little.

well first off I'd like to thank every one for welcoming me to the site.thank u all for the ideas and ,input.I'm getting frustrated with this whole wing situation, when i bought the truck i paid an extra $990.00 for the cover, for them to install it,paint it,and install the wing on top of the cover,i told them specifically that "if u cant put the wing on top the cover i don't want the cover".so after i dropped the truck of at the dealer i get a phone call from the service manager saying that they put the cover on but they will not put the wing on.The S.O.B. said "I'm washing my hands of the whole thing",he even had the balls to ask me if i wanted the wing back wtf.so i fought and argued with them for a long time, they wouldn't take it back, long story short,i ended up getting $150 back but that's it.I mean i relay like the cover but, whats the point of having a daytona if u don't have the wing!

Hi! Welcome! I had the same exact problem! I had a hard tonneau cover put on and the shop that I bought the cover from swore (not once but twice) that the wing would go on. Had the same outcome, hung over too far. Needless to say I don't have a wing so I'm still trying to figure out where to go from here as well. There was a thread here about special ordering wings (I sold mine) but I'm not sure how far that got. Good luck with it!

They should take back the covers that the wing did not fit on!

Total screw up by them IMO
They told you guys the wing would fit! If not get you a cover the wing will fit on! You paid for and requested a cover that the wng would tfit on!
They did not get you that. Evil or Very Mad
There are covers out there that the wing fits on! Rambusa has one!

Howdy speedin454 and welcome..

I'd like to ask you one simple question if I may:

When you made the order for the cover - was it stated in the contract that the wing would be installed?

If this was on the contract, you have every legal right to go after them for breach of contract - don't give up!

If it wasn't, I don't know how much more you can do except to make a complaint against the business.

Since you live in Maryland I went ahead and did you a favor - this is a link to file a consumer complaint through the Maryland State Attorney General's office or one of their local offices near you:

http://www.oag.state.md.us/Consumer/complaint.htm

They have all the information you'll need if you wish to go this route - I know that if it were me, I'd raise holy hell at the dealership or where ever I made the purchase till I got my money back or they followed through with what they said - or they'd have to bring the police in to remove me!

Laughing

And yes, been there done that twice! Twisted Evil
(And I won both times - argue/complaining not filing a complaint! LOL)

This isn't really gonna solve your problem, but I've been searching for covers for the daytona w/ wing for the last few weeks....

Here are all the options that people have gone with
snuglid - flat painted - Attached #5 - last pic
LT Sport Xtreme flat tonneau Attached #3
Lorado Tonneau Cover - Attached #1 and #2
Retrax roll-top cover - Attached #4

Also, one guy has tried to fiberglass his to fit...he's had a horror story with it....

I also wonder, when these wings are mounted to these hard covers, do the dampeners still open the lid or is it too much weight?
